Tough break for Phillip and his 1956 S1.
When the car got to the shop they found that there were only 3 lug nuts on the left rear wheel. They were also not likely tightened as required. As a result, the left rear wheel started wobbling and ruined the wheel. This was the squealing and clunking noise we were hearing. The shop reported that the tire was about to fall off.
And after all the precaution we took explaining to the AAA tow truck driver about where to place the hooks on the chassis to tow the car on to the flat bed wrecker it appears they used the steering linkage arms later during transfer to another wrecker and bent the arms.
